Surprisingly a lot has happened in the space of 8 days.
On Monday (06/02/2012) I went to Revolution in Reading with a few of friends. Now usually I'm not the clubbing type. But this is different, Jack Savidge from Friendly Fires was DJing there. I couldn't miss this opportunity for the world. Mostly because Reading in my home town so I could easily just get a bus there. He was amazing, as usual. He is one of the best DJs ever. I mean that! He plays really lush unknown songs that everyone can dance too. What I love the most about Jack Savidge DJing though, is that he won't play any Friendly Fires songs unless they are remix's. So when I asked him to play T.E.E.D's remix of Hawaiian Air he gave me a look of approval and played that as his last song. I felt honored that he would do that for me. After drinking perhaps too much, and after giving him a handshake and a high five I stumbled home in heels that I've sworn to never wear again!
Also everything is moving swiftly with the music video, it's mostly going to be influenced by The Vaccines' Tiger Blood in that it looks very much like a tour diary, it's so I can really portray the personalities of each band member and their friendship as a whole. I think that as this is their first video showing something like that will be really beneficial for them. Also tweaking it with some cool effects in editing so it can look sort of vintage aswell. And really lush, flashy transitions. It's going to be good if everything goes to plan! Also they are thinking of hiring out a boat for a couple of hours, so if we can do that it'd be great because I think we'd be able to get some really nice, natural looking shots of them. I think mostly what I want to do with this video is capture them in their natural element. Almost as if the camera is a fly on the wall looking into their lives. It'll be cool. I've just got to start drawing up a rough storyboard and see where it goes from there. I'm meeting the lead singer in a cafe in Victoria next week to get some more ideas down. Here I'll bring some permissions forms and recces and stuff so we can get all of that sorted. Also lay down some ideas and take the storyboard with me. I mostly just want to make sure this is what they want and what they thought the video would look like.
Also the site has been down since...Monday I think. So the videos are piling up! And just when the site is back up my email stops working. Meaning I can't send any emails from my shout4music email. It's so annoying! And that's not even half of it because now I can't even open the website to view my emails! I've emailed someone from the hosting company who's given me another website link to try but even that doesn't work. I know it's not my internet or my computer because I've tried both links on my phone, I've tried opening them on different browsers...everything. It's really annoying me, hopefully it'll be sorted soon.
